We make whole-food lunch bowls in a commissary kitchen in Langford, cooked once a week and delivered across Victoria and the West Shore. We're building a small team of casual prep cooks and drivers we can call in for cook and delivery days. Our first cook days are in March 2027. Prep cook (casual)
$20 an hour
One cook day a week, usually Sunday, about 6 to 9 hours, at PurePrep Commissary on McCallum Rd in Langford.
- Cook grains, beans and lentils in pressure cookers; roast chicken and vegetables
- Wash and cut vegetables, make dressings
- Portion, seal and label bowls on an assembly line
- Log temperatures and clean and sanitize as you go
You'll need:
- FOODSAFE Level 1, or taking it before your first shift
- Kitchen experience, or a real interest and a quick pair of hands
- Able to stand for a full shift and lift 20 kg
On the road
Delivery driver (casual)
$20 an hour, plus mileage at the CRA rate
Deliveries on Sunday evening (homes) and Monday around midday (workplaces) across Victoria and the West Shore, 2 to 4 hours a run.
- Load insulated coolers and follow the delivery list
- Hand over or drop off bowls and keep them cold the whole way
- Log cooler temperatures at loading and at the last stop
You'll need:
- A reliable vehicle, a valid BC driver's licence and business-use insurance
- A smartphone for the delivery list
- FOODSAFE Level 1 is a plus
